Collaboration between JioMart and Meta to introduce the new way of ordering groceries from the popular messaging app WhatsApp.
The business relationship formed between Meta platforms and Jio in 2020 is now all set to unveil its first fruit to the world. Meta Platforms and Reliance Jio have recently announced the collaboration to provide a smooth and sleek shopping experience to users of WhatsApp. According to the new offering, users can now access the complete catalog of JioMart from their WhatsApp chat, select the groceries they want to order, make the payment, and get the order delivered to the doorstep without ever leaving the chat or closing the application.
The launch is part of a strategic partnership between Meta and Jio Platforms to accelerate India’s digital transformation and provide people and businesses of all sizes opportunities to connect in new ways and fuel economic growth in the country

Meta Platforms bought a 9.99% stake in Reliance Jio Platforms in 2020 for Rs. 43,574 crores. The recent announcement of bringing JioMart on WhatsApp seems to be the next step in this relationship.
Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director, Reliance Industries, said in a statement,

WhatsApp has never relied on posting ads on its platform to generate revenue. So, onboarding the JioMart option on the WhatsApp chat will open up a new revenue stream for the platform.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta platforms, said,
This is our first-ever end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp- people can now buy groceries from JioMart in a chat. Business messaging is an area with real momentum, and chat-based experiences like this will be the go-to way people and businesses communicate in the years to come.

However, you can follow simple steps to get the groceries at your doorstep from JioMart through WhatsApp:
- Save the number “+917977079770” on your smartphone and send “Hi” to the number.
- Enter your PIN code to confirm the location.
- Bot will prompt and show the catalog of JioMart. Check out the catalog and add the items to your cart.
- Add the address, choose a payment method, and make the payment (or choose cash on delivery).
- Once confirmed payment, the order will be placed.
